There are a few ‘safe bet’ gifts that the men in your life will be well-accustomed to like multi-packs of socks and aftershave.
And while they may get a bit of use, there are some great gifts that can be specifically thoughtful for outdoorsy types.
If you’re fond of gift-giving, and like to have something to wrap up for birthdays, fathers day or anniversaries, here are a few fun ideas.
Remember it’s a fun gift … not a joke or gag gift! The best thing you can get out of gift giving is buying something that’ll get used on the regular.
A sturdy watch
Rolex this, Omega that – a fancy timepiece is great and all, but those who like a bit of adventure are much more likely to appreciate something that’s suited to wear and tear.
The classic Casio is getting big again, and the rubber Casio is perfect for those who like to get out and about.
It’s also fairly cost-effective, usually only costing around the £20 mark.
If you’ve got a bit more budget, you could pick up a Garmin so they can track all their outdoor adventures.
Funky and comfy boxers
The best reaction you can get out of a present is a laugh, and getting a pair of funky boxers is bound to do the trick.
There are brands out there like BawBags who make boxers with an athletic cut which makes them perfect for long walks, quick runs, bumpy bike rides and everything in-between.
And with a lot of outdoorsy gear—especially base layers—trending towards grey, black and a bit of hi-vis, a bit of colour and perhaps some humour will be appreciated.
A Bonzai to keep the indoors outdoorsy
If you know someone who’s quite outdoorsy, you’ll know that every moment at the desk can feel like an eternity – but you have to fund those kayaking and hiking trips somehow!
So why not get them a desk warmer that makes their office space feel a little less … office-y.
A Bonzai is a great way to go about doing that, and it’s also something that will make going to work a bit less of a chore, as at least you get to tend to your Bonzai!
A Carabiner clip
This one may seem a bit out there, but whether it’s a walker who needs to fit extra stuff in their bag, a bike rider who needs to pop their hat somewhere while they have a helmet on, or someone who likes to have quick access to their keys, a clip is incredibly handy.
It’s something you can typically get from Amazon at a super affordable rate as well.
A scratch out trails map
Whether it’s mountain bike rides, munros, or something else, there are a large number of trail maps that you can scratch out as you go.
It’s perfect for someone who’s often out and about and looking for something to show for it (apart from those All Trails logs, of course!)
Again, these thoughtful gifts can often come in under the £20 mark, which is great for those on a budget.
